What We Believe
At First Assembly of God, we are a Bible-believing church that stands firmly on the 16 Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God. We believe in salvation through Jesus Christ, the baptism in the Holy Spirit, divine healing, and the blessed hope of Christ's return. These truths shape everything we do as we strive to live according to God’s Word and fulfill the Great Commission.
Our Story
First Assembly of God in Mount Pleasant was founded in 1943 with a commitment to sharing the Gospel and serving the Mount Pleasant community. Over the decades, we’ve seen God’s faithfulness as the church has grown and lives have been transformed. From our humble beginnings to where we are today, we remain focused on preaching the truth, making disciples, and reaching the lost.

Pastor Don White
Lead Pastor
Pastor Don White has been faithfully serving as the lead pastor of First Assembly of God for over 50 years. His dedication to preaching the Word of God and shepherding this congregation has impacted countless lives. Pastor Don and his wife, Theresa, raised their family in this church and are deeply committed to seeing God’s work continue in Mount Pleasant and beyond.
Pastor Chris Buscher
Assistant Pastor
Pastor Chris Buscher is passionate about teaching God’s Word and equipping believers to walk boldly in their faith. With 18 years of full-time ministry experience and a personal testimony of transformation through Teen Challenge Ministries, Pastor Chris brings a heart for discipleship and outreach to the team. He co-founded various ministries and has led impactful missions and outreach efforts across the globe for over 9 consecutive years before ultimately returning to the USA in 2018.
Pastor Pedro Cigarroa Gomez
Spanish Congregation Pastor
Pastor Pedro was born in 1983 in Nuevo Ideal, Durango, Mexico. At the age of six, his parents gave their lives to Jesus, and by eight, he was baptized with the Holy Spirit. His father was called to ministry, and the family began building a church in a small town called La Soledad, Durango, where they constructed a temple. Pastor Pedro felt the call to preach at just ten years old, starting with street preaching by age twelve. At seventeen, he attended Bethsaida Bible Institute for three years before returning to help his father’s ministry. He preached his first pulpit message at seventeen, which felt like two hours despite being only fifteen minutes. At 21, Pastor Pedro and his family emigrated to the United States, first to California, then settling in Texas, where they started a small church. In 2007, he married Abigail, a fellow pastor's child, and together they have two children, Jeimy and Joab. In 2017, under the invitation of Pastor White, Pastor Pedro and his congregation joined First Assembly of God, where they continue to serve faithfully. He is also the president of the Alliance of Pastors of East Texas. Pastor Pedro’s greatest passion is winning souls for the Kingdom and fostering unity within the body of Christ. He looks forward to meeting you and introducing you to the love and salvation of Jesus Christ.
Pastor Dallas Monticue
New Life Church, Daingerfield
Pastor Dallas Monticue serves as the pastor of New Life Church in Daingerfield, Texas. Before joining First Assembly, he spent five years as a missionary, bringing the Gospel to unreached communities. He is married with two small children and has a deep love for ministry, missions, and shepherding his congregation.
